This lovely vintage postcard was mailed using a purple four cent Lincoln stamp from Fort Lauderdale February 28, 1963. It was sent to Mr. & Mrs. Tom Harris, Delhi, Ontario, Canada. It reads:
Feb. 28/63
Dear May & Tom
This is where we are staying – quite a beautiful spot. This is a heated pool – 73 ft. long. We have been swimming every day. Real tropical flowers & shrubs everywhere – a complete change for us.
Love Eleanor & Bill
Can you imagine sitting out on your balcony, overlooking the pool, sipping on your drink and relaxing? I understand what Eleanor meant about a complete change; it’s cold here in these northern parts in February! This card was sent 53 years ago this month.
HereĀ is a fantastic article about the Biltmore that you really must read. The Biltmore is unfortunately no longer standing.
