This lovely vintage postcard was mailed using a purple four cent Lincoln stamp, postmarked Miami Fla. February 18, 1963. It was sent to Miss. Catherine Robbins & Miss Rose M Radice, C/O Corp Tax Div. State House Annex, Trenton N.J. It reads:
Hi, There.
Just had dinner here with Helen & Margaret and a group of others
Regards to All
Estelle
We’ve covered the Tropical Acres before. Unfortunately, the location featured in this postcard no longer stands. Additionally, Google News finds that the Boynton Beach location burned down in the 1960s (click on the link to see the newspaper article from the Palm Beach Post). The Dania location celebrated 50 years of business, though (read about it here). Then there was a fire in August of 2011 (read about it here). However, it’s rehabbed and reopened and recently celebrated 60 years!
Want to visit the remaining Tropical Acres? It gets good reviews, and their menu offers a good selection. Here’s their official website.
