This lovely view, Looking North on Collins Avenue, has some other identifiers other than the fabulous Fontainebleau. I see the International Hotel & Apts, the Tatem Motel and the Sorrento.
Because I love you, dear reader, I spent entirely too much time trying to get this exact street image in Google Street View. And it wasn’t easy.
The street is now one way and has been re-routed. The green arrow is the curved part of the old Fontainebleau. The black arrow shows the Sorrento sign. And the pink arrow is where the Tatem was, and is now part of the larger Four Points by Sheraton. Their website here has some history and notes that the name of the Tatem changed to the Barcelona in the early 1950s.
