Today Mom and I went to Southern Exposure for the Sit and Smell the Roses class. We had lunch (Chef Elsie did an amazing job!), then went out to create our lovely concrete benches.
The folks at S.E. had already given them a color wash. We used steel wool to distress them, then stained them. They then received a clear coat and set out to dry.
Mom was thinking of putting hers on the front porch with a basket of flowers on it (if it ever warms up!). I am not sure where I’m going to put mine. I was thinking somewhere near the bird feeders so I’d have a place to sit comfortably while taking photos. We had a lovely time at the class, and our benches turned out really good!
I put out a small plate of dried meal worms this evening after dinner for the robins, since they have returned. I can’t believe the weekend is already over.
