Seasonal Updates

Today was near 80 degrees and sunny. It’s been lovely the past few days. All the trees are at least that fuzzy green, and a lot of them have real leaves now. Tonight I planted four sets of hostas that Carrie at work gave me, and put down two large bags of mulch in the side garden. I probably need four more bags on that side…I never seem to be able to accurately guess how much I’m going to need.

Last year, I saw an oriole fly overhead just once. I swore that I would try to attract them to the house this year. I purchased a jelly feeder and some bird jelly, and I believe I’ve managed to attract them! Two days ago, I saw both the male and female. Last night after putting out the jelly, I saw the female. Tonight after putting out the jelly, I saw the male. They love the jelly! They are so beautiful.

Friday I’m taking the day off work and Mom and I are hitting the greenhouses. I still don’t have my plan fully put together for the new gardens in the front, and I will need a list for that and all the planters. I have a pretty good headache going tonight though, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
