I stayed here with my grandparents in 1963 and 1964 during those summers and before that my grandparents discovered the Sand Castle during a hurricane and they quickly turned into the parking lot and grabbed a room. We always stayed over the coffee shop by the pool. What great memories of bar-b-ques and socializing and watching everyone shuffleboard. I also was able to get a coconut from one of the palm trees because it reached up to the top floor facing the sea. Sandy and Cherrie had parents who managed or owned the hotel and they both were great swimmers. What ever happened to Sandy and Cherrie from the mid or early 1960’s? I just loved it here. Also Supermarket Sweep, a nationwide game show was being filmed a little south in Hollywood, Fl and a Seven-11 was being build close by. The convenience store was a new thing back then. Sincerely, Barbara
