Vintage Postcard – Motel Row Miami Beach
Some of the fabulous motels that line Collins Avenue on Miami Beach.

This lovely vintage postcard was mailed using a 4-cent purple Lincoln stamp from Fort Lauderdale January 26, 1967 to Mr. & Mrs. August Pelto, 6815 East 11 Mile Rd., c/o Twin Pines Trailer Ct., Box #71, Warren, Michigan – 48092. It reads:
Wed 1-25-67
Hi: Gus & Betty: Yesterday we drove down U.S. Hwy #1 to Key Largo to check some trailer lots that are for sale. It was almost dark when we looked them over – couldn’t see much. So are going down again tomorrow leaving early enough to see the Glades Nat’l. Park also. Louise is doing the laundry in West Broward Shop. Center – Jack.
If you look closely, you can see not only the Dunes, but the Driftwood and the Desert Inn. I have another Motel Row card that is worth checking out here. I have a postcard from the Dunes here.
The Twin Pines Trailer Court still stands in Warren. August Pelto passed away in August 1984 and his wife, Toine Elizabeth passed away in May 2009.
