This lovely vintage postcard has not been mailed. There is a handwritten note on it that reads:
Friends of Grade Abbey’s Stopped here and I went to St. Paul’s Church about 11:25 A. M. Masses were every hr. so I missed part of it.
There seems to be an impromptu meeting in the parking lot. Makes me think of a line from The Commitments “What’s this? Bingo callers’ convention?” It must be winter, because everyone is wearing cold-weather gear. Here’s another postcard from the Lodi, from Flikr.
The building still stands, as per Google Street View:
And it still apparently operates as a motel, website here.
