Someone, perhaps Ellen Hill herself, has stamped “FLORIDA” with a green stamp pad next to Lake Worth. This vintage postcard is unused, however handwritten on the back is the note “Stayed here Feb. 9 – 1966.” Here’s another postcard view, an earlier card that lists Nestor and Ellen Hill as the owners. Nestor and Ellen were listed in the Directory of the Finnish Speaking Population in Florida, published, edited and compiled by Mauno E. Nikander and Staff.
The building still stands (Google Street View):
The motel went through foreclosure auction in 2010. Amenities included a pool, sauna and an area for a coin operated laundry. The buildings were constructed in 1956± of masonry (CBS) and wood frame. It is not listed as currently being for sale.
