On Tuesday, we got up and went to IHOP for breakfast before setting out for the St. Pete side of Florida, Honeymoon Island with the intention of kayaking to Caladesi Island State Park.
The weather was questionable, with storms predicted for the afternoon. The kayak guy said we should not consider our original plans of making it to the mangrove forest.
This next image shows the shoreline where we set out, and in the distance you can see the part of the island we kayaked to. We did a double-kayak this time, as I was a little nervous about getting across all of that in a potential storm by myself.
The part of the island we went to is pretty isolated. There’s a ferry that goes further down on the island, but pretty much only folks who kayak over go to the end we visited.
After kayaking, we went in further to Honeymoon Island to that state park.
We sat at the cafe for a little bit to rehydrate.
When we were ready for dinner, we headed back inland.
We had dinner at Keegan’s Seafood Grille, which was featured in a Diners Drive Ins and Dives. It’s located in Indian Rocks Beach, a lovely area. We did a little searching for homes for sale in the area. I think we’d both be happy living there.
