Father’s Day

Today was sunny and warm. We went to breakfast at Denny’s, then for coffee, then over to Mom and Dad’s. Dad got good news from the doctors in Ann Arbor this week. After visiting there, we drove to Mattawan to Chinn Chinn’s to have a meal with Cindy and Mahmoud, Hassan, Bob Sr and Iris. Then it was home to make up some hummingbird nectar and relax for a short time before the work week starts up again.

The garden is coming along nicely. The purples always come out too blue in the photos, though.

At least this will be a short work week. I’m taking Friday off. And Tuesday is the solstice…I have a special dinner planned. I’ll take photos and post the details. I’m pretty excited about it. Two new spices I’ve never tried before and a brand new specialty pan. I can’t wait!

This next one came up from last year. I have no idea what it is. I know I planted it. Should be interesting to see it when it opens. At first I thought it was a salvia. At Mom’s today, I thought it was a coneflower. But getting home tonight and looking at it…any ideas?

I’m so happy your dad got good news from the doctor! We were all worried but fortunately his doing pretty good.

It was a good father’s day, time with the family and time with the wife… I’m a lucky guy!
