This lovely vintage postcard was mailed using a purple four-cent Lincoln Stamp October 9 1965. It was sent to Mr. & Mrs. R. Danish, 28 Swarthmore Rd, Linden, N.J. It reads:
Hello folks –
Its just beautiful here. Having a nice trip. We will go on to Miami in the A.M. Then to go see our grandchild.
Love, Lil & Bob
Somewhat hard to see, leaning against the decorative block wall is an old woman holding a small black dog. In fact, all the folks, including the bathing beauties on the loungers and the men in the pool are rather older than I would expect for a postcard. It’s like this motel caters to fun, hip old people who like to party. What’s with the guy with the pool float on his head? Too many martinis, perhaps. I love this card!
The motel no longer seems to stand. I believe George pre-deceased Virginia, as she is listed as flying solo on later versions of postcards.
