Fourth of July – Zip Code Tour 2015 – The Rolling Stones

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Bob and I had the best Fourth of July ever, at the largest party in America at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Seeing the Rolling Stones with your best friend? Priceless!

We drove down to Indianapolis in the morning on the Fourth. After checking in at the hotel, we went for a walk and had lemonade at Wolfie’s. Then we met up with Jeff for dinner at Scotty’s Brewhouse in Brownsburg (peanut butter and jalapenos on a burger? Yes, please).

We got to the venue early and parked off 16th Street (which later turned into a 3-hour traffic jam…good thing we got in early!). We sat in the cool car for awhile watching the strange antics of tailgaters before going in to stake out our spot of grass on the lawn. Rascal Flatts opened the show at 7:45pm. The Stones came on a little after 9:00pm.

It was packed, but we had a great spot against the fencing. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a crowd that large.

The show exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely awesome. Beyond words.
