Happy Birthday, Mom!

Bob and I took today off work and went over to Saugtuck/Douglas. We climbed the stairs and went over the dunes to Oval Beach. There were huge formations of ice that had mounded up on the beach and then maybe 50 feet out on the water. The open water was a good long distance beyond that. We walked up and down and out on the ice. Then we walked the road back, and drove on to walk around Saugatuck, shopping. It was just a perfect day! More photos at the link below.

Cold again, in the 20s, but sunny for the second day in a row. Went to look at the house on Kirby again. It was a lovely day.

Today was the third day of 2010, and the third day full of sunshine and blue sky. It was also very, very cold! Single digits, strong wind. Last night when we went to the Mongolian Barbeque to meet Herbie, we saw a big fire. Today, we drove past the area and saw this burned out trailer.

We went to Kellogg Forest for a winter walk after breakfast. The sun was out and it was a beautiful day.
