Merry Christmas

This is Adrian, kennel tech, holding Matty! He came back, but just for a visit. He's such a big cat now.

Christmas with Grandma in Lansing. We had risotto for lunch, and lots of conversation. It was the perfect way to celebrate the solstice. I know that today marks the start of winter, but it also marks the fact that the days will get longer and the nights shorter from here on!

It was just a nice, quiet afternoon...perfect.

We got up, and on our way to breakfast found that it was very cold, but incredibly foggy out.

We went for a walk around the pond at KCC after our afternoon coffee.

There were lots of deer tracks, but we didn't see any people. It was lovely.

There were brief periods of blue sky and sun, but it seems like it's been terribly gray the past few weeks. We've had snow on the ground since before my birthday. But can the January thaw be too far away?

Ridge is back at the shelter after being in a foster home since February. He is a big kitty now. I'm having difficulty with him being back. I feel like I've let him down by not finding him a permanent home yet. He's such a good cat.

Delilah, an exceptional corgi, hangs out under my desk. Note: she also spent a good deal of the afternoon sleeping on my lap while I tried to work around her. Those shaved bits on her back are from when she was treated for heartworm. Make sure your dogs are on preventative!
